In addition, Steve works with a number of public and private companies in the Database Information Services sector in the capacity of value-creation consultant. He participates in functions associated with the Software and Information Industry Association, the Advertising Research Foundation, and the Direct Marketing Association.
Prior to joining Laird², Steve worked as a legal assistant in the Real Estate Practice Group of Thacher Proffitt and Wood, where he managed multi-million-dollar loan closings for several national commercial mortgage lenders, with responsibility for property due diligence, lease auditing, loan and securitization document preparation/custody management, and closing supervision.
During and immediately after his time at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Steve served as a divisional financial and information services manager for Sodexho USA, where he developed and implemented a database management system to support the division’s sales and accounting efforts. He was also a founding member and producer of Company Carolina, an independent, student-led theatre company serving the University and the surrounding Research Triangle community.
Steve graduated with honors from the College of Arts and Sciences of the University of North Carolina, receiving a BA (summa cum laude) in Economics. A Duke Power and William R. Davie Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa, he is a native of South Carolina.
